Develop Effective Nurse Leadership Skills Through Web-Based Simulations
Help Your Learners Develop Effective Nurse Leadership Skills Through Web-Based Simulations
In the healthcare profession, strong leaders must be able to communicate effectively, prioritize patient care, and manage multiple tasks. The Leadership, Management and Quality virtual simulations from Sentinel U® provides opportunities to help future and licensed nurses hone these skills. As learners practice clinical judgment and decision-making skills, they will see how their care decisions affect structure, outcome, process, and cost throughout a healthcare organization. These virtual simulations and clinicals are an ideal supplement to a nursing student’s curriculum and for licensed nurses to further their professional development.
Training The Nursing Leaders of Tomorrow
Training and retaining strong nurse leaders is essential for the success of any healthcare facility. The Leadership, Management and Quality virtual simulations from Sentinel U® give learners the opportunity to develop their leadership skills in risk-free scenarios – and in both hospital and clinical settings. Our range of simulations provide learners with multiple modalities to continue their education or professional growth and to become the successful nursing leaders of the future.

Virtual Simulations For the Leadership, Management and Quality Series
Nursing Quality Indicators®
The Nursing Quality Indicators® virtual simulation and clinical demonstrates the importance for nurse leaders to uphold quality patient care and guide their teams to excellence. In this simulation, learners will be introduced to ten virtual patients and will immediately see how their care decisions affect structure, outcome, process, and cost. As learners make positive decisions, they will earn badges, but more importantly, they will build knowledge, skills, and confidence. At the end of the scenario, there is an automated report that displays the total number of correct responses for each person. Our Nursing Quality Indicators® simulation aligns with both Domain 5 (Quality and Safety) and Domain 9 (Professionalism) of Essentials: Core Competencies for Professional Nursing Education.
Patient Management and Delegation®
In this scenario, learners will step into the shoes of a Charge Nurse and have to practice clinical judgment and decision-making skills related to setting acuities, scheduling, delegating and prioritizing patient care. Learners will be exposed to over 50 diverse virtual patients as they work through five levels that progress in complexity and difficulty. They will be charged with assigning the various patients to nurses, making their decisions based on the nurses’ experience, record of efficiency and overall caseload. Working from SBAR handoff reports and staff nurse details, learners will take on high levels of responsibility and learn to plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing resources in an engaging and true-to-life environment.
Prioritization of Care®
Our Prioritization of Care® virtual simulations and clinicals, available for both clinical and hospital settings, challenge learners to build their decision-making confidence by working through progressively more difficult assignments. Learners will record vital signs, interview patients, chart the observations and rationale in SBAR format, and prioritize patients for treatment. These virtual scenarios allow learners to practice vital decision making in a risk-free environment, and provide immediate remediation, badges for achievement and a report that conveys total correct responses. These simulations are an ideal choice for nursing students and professional nurses to develop their leadership aptitude and to become capable, well-rounded leaders and managers.
Interprofessional Teams®
This virtual simulation revolves around a single patient in an unfolding case study. Throughout the modules, learners will interact with 14 other healthcare professionals, including a physician, school nurse, optometrist, pharmacist, therapists and a registered dietician. In each module, the learner will identify their patient’s needs and build a team of five interprofessional team members, based on their scope of practice, to further manage and evaluate the patient. The learner will observe the group collaboration process, recognize challenges and barriers within the team, and guide the conversation by making decisions that result in positive impacts on the team and, ultimately, patient-centered care. This virtual clinical series helps learners master interprofessional practice and build professional competencies while developing effective communication and collaboration skills.
