Develop Geriatric Care Skills Through Virtual Simulations

Unique Scenarios Provide Authentic Experiences and Training for Student and Licensed Nurses

Nurses working in the Geriatric Care field must be able to prioritize care and provide treatment to a complex population. This collection of virtual simulations focused on Geriatric Care enhances your curriculum and provides a unique approach for participants to learn and test their ability to manage an aging group of patients. Learners will work through a variety of Prioritization of Care® simulations (including Geriatric and Mental / Behavioral Health scenarios) to care for a variety of patients presenting with a range of conditions.

Practicing Care for an Aging Population

Our team of nurse educators have developed various virtual simulations that focus on resource prioritization and offer multiple modalities where critical thinking and nursing care scenarios can be practiced repeatedly to support geriatric care. As learners work through a variety of settings and scenarios, the patient assessments become progressively more difficult. The unique patients have symptoms ranging from early-stage heart failure and respiratory distress to orthopedic pain and depression. Within Prioritization of Care®, learners will record vital signs, interview patients and chart the observations and rationale in SBAR format. These web-based simulations are perfect for nursing students or for licensed nurses to continue their professional development.

Prioritization of Care®

Our Prioritization of Care® virtual simulations and clinicals, available for both clinical and hospital settings, challenge learners to build their decision-making confidence by working through increasingly challenging assignments. These virtual scenarios allow learners to apply their knowledge as they use intervention selection and prioritization skills to work with aging/elderly patients. Learners will record vital signs, interview patients, chart the observations and rationale in SBAR format, and prioritize patients for treatment.

Prioritization of Care® Mental / Behavioral Health – Chronic Care

Nurses who work in mental and behavioral health must learn how to prevent mental illness, when to intervene in dangerous situations, and what goes into a care plan. Our Prioritization of Care® virtual scenarios focus on helping learners develop the skills necessary to work with and care for a complex geriatric population with chronic mental health conditions.
